Welcome
to Fall in Colorado: A Quick Refresher for Our New Neighbors
There’s something magical about Colorado in the fall — the golden aspens, crisp
mornings, and that cozy feeling of change in the air. But if you’re new to our
beautiful state (especially if you’ve come from Texas or California), the shift
in seasons can bring a few surprises! Here’s a quick and friendly refresher on
what to do to keep your home — and yourself — ready for the cooler months
ahead.
Remember to Blowout Your Sprinklers
One of the most important fall chores in Colorado is blowing out your sprinkler
system. If you haven’t done this before, it’s simply a way to remove water from
the lines so they don’t freeze and burst when temperatures drop. If you don’t
already have someone who handles this, we have a great contact — Mario with Ramos Landscaping — who’s
happy to help and has been assisting many of our clients, friends & family. Just reach out, and we’ll share his info. And if you hear a
freeze warning before you’ve had the sprinklers blown out, go outside and
disconnect your hoses from the outside faucets immediately. It’s a small step that can prevent a big
plumbing headache later!
Check Your Tires Before the First Snow
Once that first snow hits, tire shops get busy fast. Take a few minutes now to
check your tire tread — it’s not only about safety, but also compliance. On
I-70, for instance, if you’re stopped during bad weather or involved in an
accident without proper tread, you can actually be fined. A quick coin test
will tell you if you’re due for new tires — just Google “coin tire tread test”
for the simple how-to.
Enjoy the Beauty of Colorado Fall
Fall here is truly something special. This year, we took a drive up to Vail,
and it was absolutely stunning — from Vail Pass to the Eisenhower Tunnel, the
mountains were glowing with golden aspens. But once you’re on the east side of
the tunnel, they seem to disappear — Colorado always keeps us guessing! As a
lifelong Coloradan, this is my favorite season. The slow change of the leaves,
the warm days, the crisp evenings — it’s the perfect excuse to grab a jacket,
step outside, and take it all in.
Getting Your Home Winter-Ready
If you’re not sure what else to do around the house before winter hits, just

to roofing.

What’s your favorite part of fall in Colorado? Or do you have your own tip for
getting your home ready for winter? We’d love to hear what’s on your list this
season so we can share with everyone — and as always, we’re here to help however we can.
